STUDY GUIDE FOR LAB FINAL

6 December 2006

During your last lecture period you will be given approximately 30 minutes to complete the lab final with the aid of a calculator. It accounts for 21 points of the 135 total possible points in the lab portion of the course. The exam will consist of both multiple choice questions and short answers/calculations.

GENERAL:

   proper application/calculation of statistics

    (significant figures, mean,)

purpose and use of instruments and glassware

    (e.g., balances, volumetric glassware)

FOR EACH EXPERIMENT:

     purpose of the experiment

     primary chemical reactions involved

     observations made indicating chemistry involved

appropriate use of the glassware and equipment

theory behind the experimental technique as covered in the lab manual & the textbook

general equations used for calculations in each experiment

Calibration of Volumetric
