Course
Description
Chemistry 1a is the first of a two-course sequence in introductory
chemistry designed for
students interested in taking a survey of molecular science and for those
planning to concentrate in the laboratory sciences. This course covers basic chemical principles,
chemical calculations and laboratory technique with an emphasis on
quantitative analysis
and the statistical analysis of data.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR THE FIRST EXAM THIS FRIDAY?
A) Work examples and homework problems and do so under a time constraint.
B) Go over definitions, lecture notes.
C) Learn how to use your calculator. Specially how to calculate an average and standard deviation, the rest you can do using formulas learned in lab/lecture
for statistics.
D) For naming...memorize tables and rules in chp. 3 . Make certain you understand the examples given.
E) Review statistics and sig. fig.
F) Try review sessions problems or review material:
G) Try the following previous exam. NOTE In this exam I didn't cover much about VSEPR or naming, but would give you an idea about my exams
TAKE IT UNDER TIME CONSTRAINS. GIVE YOURSELF 55 MINUTES. WORK UNDER PRESSURE!!!
